This chalky Venetian Mid Grey Colour is a clean grey and lends itself to have contrast colour chalk finish paint colour 2 tone effect or a wash over the top.
Da Vinci's Chalky Paint Finish is a self-priming chalky paint in a range of Shabby Chic Colours inspired by Renaissance painters. It can be a base coat, a second coat or a single coat finish. This unique decorative finish is developed for furniture, floors and walls.
Some ideas you can use Giovanni Bellini
- Venetian is a stark neutral grey that lends itself to be used as a base coat for another colour to go over the top and distressed back with sandpaper
- Venetian is colour neutral which means it compliments other colours rather than oppose
- Venetian is a strong base colour but can be softened by using the white wash effect. once Venetian is dry apply a thinned (with Roma wash) coat of Renaissance white and wipe the excess off with a damp rag as per the photo.
Once finished for protection you could:
- apply a coat of clear soft wax to leave a smooth satin finish
- apply a clear soft wax and once dry apply a dark soft wax for an antique look
- For a hardwearing finish such as a table top then we recommend Glaze & Medium for a satin clear finish
- Leave Au natural as a matt finish
